UNICEF and Haleon Pakistan Launch Nationwide Maternal and Newborn Health Campaign
A public-private partnership taking vital maternal and newborn health messages to families across Pakistan through mass media, social platforms and frontline community workers.
UNICEF Pakistan, with the support of Haleon Pakistan, launched a nationwide Social and Behaviour Change Communication campaign focused on improving maternal and newborn health practices across Pakistan.
The campaign will reach families through national television, radio and social media, complemented by direct community engagement through frontline workers who will carry critical health messages door to door. This combination of mass communication and community-level outreach is designed to turn awareness into practical actions that can contribute to healthier outcomes for mothers and newborns.
The launch brought together senior national leadership, including Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani; Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bharath, Minister of State for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination; Pernille Ironside, UNICEF Representative in Pakistan; as well as representatives from Haleon Pakistan and other distinguished stakeholders.
I am proud to lead this partnership from UNICEF’s side. It demonstrates the potential of strategic private sector partnerships to mobilize resources, expertise and reach in support of development priorities at scale.
